g1 test
testing from my g1 using the wptogo
I was looking at a couple things I wouldn’t mind having:
An external harddrive (the link shows it from the best rating, the first one, the Western Digital is nice)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010150414&bop=And&Order=RATING
Would definitely allow me to backup my data safely and reformat my laptop like I’ve been wanting to do. I can start my music collection back, as my old 100GB external drive filled the 100GB easily, so this would definitely be of good use, as I’m starting to download music a lot more now.
(On sale right now is a 1TB, which is 1000GB for $166.. good deal! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136186&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL093008&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL093008-_-HardDrives-_-L0A-_-22136186)
Sneakers (Dunks, Maxes, Supras):
9.5, any color, low mids or highs, i dont care!
Nice belts:
Large please, thick leather belts with color and nice buckles. Doesn’t matter, I want a nice collection of them
Fitted Caps:
Stussy, DGK, LRG, again– COLLECTION
Board Backpack
Kind of a tough decision here —- I honestly just want a nice looking backpack that can hold a board if needed, my laptop and some books. Doesn’t matter too much on color.. just fresh!
Kid Robot Toys
Who can say no to a munny or dunny?

I could go on and on about things I want but birthday presents shouldn’t be everyday things.. something that you look at and go — i got that for my birthday — not this is what i have to wear to work everyday.. you know? Creativity is best, and if anyone who reads this actually gets me any of this stuff, or even thinks about it then i’ll be more than happy.

PHNOM PENH, July 20 (Reuters) - Cambodia has complained to the U.N. Security Council about its military standoff with Thailand over an ancient temple on their disputed border.
Hundreds of Thai and Cambodian troops faced each other at the Preah Vihear temple for a sixth day on Sunday, a standoff that some fear could turn violent.
In a letter sent to council members on Friday and released to the media on Sunday, Cambodia’s U.N. ambassador, Sea Kosal, said Thai troops had been occupying Cambodian territory about 300 metres from the 900-year-old temple since last Tuesday.
The temple, perched on a jungle-clad escarpment that forms a natural boundary between the two nations, has been a source of tension since the International Court of Justice ruled in 1962 that it belonged to Cambodia, a decision that still angers Thais.
At the heart of the current dispute is a 4.6 sq km (1.8 sq mile) area around the temple that is claimed by both sides.
“While Cambodia exercises maximum restraint to avoid armed confrontation, we cannot ignore that Thai military provocation is to create a de facto “overlapping area” that legally does not exist on Cambodia soil,” Sea Kosal said.
Thai troops moved into the disputed area last Tuesday after three Thai protesters were detained by Cambodian soldiers as they tried to plant a Thai flag on the temple.
The two defence ministers will meet in Thailand on Monday to try to end the impasse, which has revived memories of a 2003 spat over another Cambodian temple, Angkor Wat, which saw a nationalist mob setting fire to the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh.
Analysts say domestic politics in Thailand, where the temple is known as Khao Pra Viharn, has played a key role in fuelling the border dispute.
Preah Vihear’s listing as a World Heritage site this month triggered a political uproar in Bangkok, where the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) accused the government of selling out Thailand’s history by initially backing the listing.
The PAD, a coalition of activists and royalists, is waging a street campaign against Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej, whom they accuse of being a proxy of former premier Thaksin Shinawatra, ousted in a coup in 2006. (Reporting by Ek Madra; Editing by Darren Schuettler and Mariam Karouny)

The temple in fact does belong to Cambodia. In fact a vast majority of Southeast Asia belongs to Cambodia, but I won’t complain here.
I found this interesting link: http://www.blogherald.com/2008/07/15/blogging-jobs-how-much-are-bloggers-paid-to-blog/
You can call me late or something but people getting paid to blog? In a way it kind of makes me want to start blogging more (ha ha ha.. right..) to see if I can sit around and blog about things all day. I’m still fairly new to the advances in blogging. I remember the old xanga days where that’s all it was, a blog. Now it’s crazy how things have gotten so much more involved. Blogs have gotten so SEO friendly that it’s the new “cool”. Don’t take my word for it, do your research and check out how many blogs exist, find out what “pinging” is and all that. Hell I’m using w.bloggar to write to my wordpress and expressionengine accounts now. How easy is this? Now I can blog about anything I want! Hah!
Check back later.. I have some interesting stuff to share.
So yesterday was the official “pre-launch” of mindfunk clothing. Right now its the actual website featuring a blog in the front. Yeah another blog, that means myspace, here and mindfunk. Though look there for more stuff related to the clothing and music industry. Yesterday I sent inquiries to two companies to get shirts made and both of them required a resale certificate. To those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s basically a certificate that businesses have that allows them to buy products from another company at wholesale prices (and i believe tax free)
Since mindfunk is considered a company we get a special rate. One of the vendors was like 70% cheaper! Something new.. lol.
On that note I looked into registering the business and will more than likely go into a limited liability company instead of a corporation. I’m getting some legal advice as well (already sent that email) and will possibly be attending a seminar/workshop.
On the other note I’m trying to work with this vinyl/print company (exoticsigns in delray) to get stickers and cards made but they havn’t replied back to me yet. Come on guys! I got business for you!
Will from SFPOA.NET also suggested I get some simple promotional shirts made for me and anyone who wants to promote for mindfunk. I was thinking it’d be a great idea with flyers and business cards this way I can network with a lot more credibility. But this means all goes back to the business.
I have to write my business plan, do my marketing research and know my industry really well. This means studying Marc Ecko, studying Rocawear, studying all the smaller labels and figuring out what they’re doing and try to make sure I have my plan to success down. This is my first step and is currently what I’m working on. Once I get my business plan down and have done my research talking to people about it and convincing them to be apart of it or to possibly invest in the company will be a lot easier and people will know I thought everything out. And this is how I want it to be. I really want to go home and sleep but I just can’t.. Not if I want to get this up and going.. Anyways.. check back! More to come!
So I’ve been spending quite sometime contemplating which way I’ve been wanting to go with my site. I still do not want to turn things into a fully fledged business because of my schedule. School is also about to start and here I am (crazy as it sounds) trying to find work. I’ve emailed a couple people on craigslist and hopped onto a couple of freelance sites. I read a couple articles and now I’m a little confused as to which direction I want to go. So here are my current issues:
With that said I feel like I have left design alone for a bit too long and I need to return and play catch-up for a little while. I know CSS and XHTML well enough to make a design and now I need to perfect it and make sure I can do it efficiently. Dreamweaver seems to slow me down now-a-days since I’m not using it fully and it can get on my nerves. I also need to find a real system to work off of as my laptop, though powerful, can only go so far when it comes to needing more than one Creative Suite 3 application running. I can’t render FLV videos because it will overheat and shut off. My best bet is to try and get things going now before school starts so I can focus on my studies and just do work for my clients instead of trying to organize the system I have in place.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve actually picked up some type of code and tried to better my self at it. Since the beginning of my designing days PHP was my choice. It was free and I was a teenager and it’s what I could afford at the time. Linux servers were cheap and it was just my ideal choice. ASP.NET rose up with the ability to code in VB and C#. I used to make AOL programs in visual basic so it was like wow. One thing I couldn’t do was learn ASP.NET. Maybe it’s because I’m used to learning how to do things off of the internet. I just couldn’t grasp ASP.NET. Don’t get me wrong though, I am more than willing to pick up a good book on ASP.NET and learning the ins and outs of it. But at this point I think with what I do in developing that PHP is still the proper choice for me to learn first. Like man people will say, it’s all syntax and that just makes it a matter of preference. One is not better than the other, its just preference. So I’m going to just stick with my lovely PHP and hope for the best. PHP vs ASP.NET is like Facebook(programmed in PHP) vs Myspace(ASP.NET). You can’t compare them.
Here I am, updating my blog. I’m watching some weird show on A&E right now (and now I’m changing it). Meanwhile, I’m updating my page and fixing a couple things here and there. Don’t be shocked if I end up posting again today.
Florida Accords (FLAccords.com) was launched today. It is a community (online discussion system) site that is based on the Honda Accord owners within Florida. It was a website that people had been asking to be built or suggested and until now has not existed. Currently the site has over 100 members and a little over a thousand posts. For being open only a week or so proves to be impressive.
Edit July 11, 2008: We just had our first meet within the South region of the forum and below are pictures of that event.
